Overlooking the Historic Norwalk Harbor, SoNo Seaport Seafood originally opened its doors in April, 1983 as just a fish market. Due to its tremendous popularity and prime location, the restaurant soon followed opening its doors in November, 1984. All of this was made possible, thanks to the Bloom Family.
In 1947, twins Norman & Hillard fell in love with the water and Norwalk’s oystering traditions. For the next 20 years, the brothers managed some of the largest oyster & clamming companies on this side of the Long Island Sound, eventually purchasing The Tallmadge Oyster Company. Currently, there are three generations of Bloom’s, farming Oysters from the Jersey Shore to Mystic. Luckily, you are sitting at one of the many restaurants where you can enjoy the fruits of their labor.
